Resumo: The objective of this work was to study the biology of Strepsicrates smithiana (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) and to determine its infestation on strawberry guava (Psidium cattleianum). The biological parameters were evaluated, a fertility life table was elaborated, and moth infestation was settled in a strawberry guava orchard. The period from egg to adult was 43.4 days, and survival was 21.3%. On average, females laid 135 eggs, and longevity of males and females was 16.5 and 17.6 days, respectively. Strepsicrates smithiana increases 32 times each generation, whose average duration is 45 days. The highest infestation was recorded in January.

A duração do período ovo‑adulto foi de 43,4 dias, e a sobrevivência foi de 21,3%. As fêmeas colocaram em média 135 ovos, e a longevidade de machos e fêmeas foi de 16,5 e 17,6 dias, respectivamente. Strepsicrates smithiana aumenta 32 vezes a cada geração, e a duração média de uma geração é de 45 dias.
