Resumo: This study was conducted with the data from crossbred Holstein-Zebu-Gir (H-Z) cows in the Production System which was introduced in 1977 at the National Centre of Research on Dairy Cattle (CNPGL/EMBRAPA), Coronel Pacheco, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The effects of physiological and environmental factors on the milk production were studied. Milk yields from 395 lactation averaged 2,989±80 kg. Milk yield was affected by systems, year of parturition (lactations starting from June to August were higher than those from December to February), genetic groups (within the System they were all equivalent in production but prior to the System the 3/4 H-Z produced more milk than the 1/2 H-Z bred), and finally the calving order which reached maximum yield during the 5th lactation. The interaction System x calving season was also observed.

The interaction System x calving season was also observed.O presente trabalho foi realizado com dados de 131 vacas mestiças Holandês-Zebu-Gir do Sistema de Produção implantado em 1977 no CNPGL/EMBRAPA, Coronel Pacheco, MG. Foram estudados os efeitos de fatores fisiológicos e do meio sobre a produção de leite. As estimativas da média, do erro-padrão, e o coeficiente de variação, em 395 lactações, foram de, respectivamente, 2.989±80 kg de leite, e de 26,6%. Local de nascimento das vacas constituiu fonte de variação significativa (P < 0,01) da produção de leite. As vacas que iniciaram produções na época 3 (jun-jul-ago) produziram significativamente (P < 0,05) mais leite que as que iniciaram na época 1 (dez-jan-fev). Grupo genético, dentro de local de nascimento, influenciou (P < 0,01) a produção de leite. Os animais 1/2 e 3/4 H-Z, nascidos dentro do Sistema, apresentaram melhores produções do que aqueles do mesmo grupo genético que nasceram fora. A ordem de parto afetou (P < 0,01) a produção. As primeiras e segundas lactações representaram 69,8% e 85,7% da produção máxima, que corresponde à quinta lactação.
