Resumo: | Seven Phytophthora sp. isolates from black wattle (Acacia mearnsii) were evaluated based on mycelial growth and sporangia production. The greatest mycelial growth rate were observed on carrot-agar and V-8 at 20 and at 28ºC. The isolates sporulated under liquid cultures (KNO3 solution and sterilized water) in continuous light. Sporangia were ovoid, papillated and non-caducous. All isolates were pathogenic to black wattle. |

All isolates were pathogenic to black wattle.Avaliou-se o crescimento micelial e a esporulação de sete isolados de Phytophthora de acácia-negra (Acacia mearnsii), sob diferentes condições. Observou-se maior crescimento micelial nos meios cenoura-ágar e V-8, entre 20ºC e 28ºC. A 12ºC o crescimento foi mínimo e a 36ºC não houve crescimento. Os isolados em estudo apresentaram poucas variações quanto ao aspecto das colônias. A esporulação ocorreu na presença de meio líquido (solução de KNO3 e água destilada esterilizada) e luz contínua. Os isolados de Phytophthora apresentaram esporângios papilados, ovóides e persistentes.
