Resumo: TDR technique has been used as a tool or monitoring soil electrical conductivity and ion concentration n the soil. The objective of this study was to valuate models for estimating soil solution sodium concentration based on bulk lectrical conductivity (ECa) and soil water content data in lysimeters under ifferent soil salinity conditions.Treatments regarded about leaching fraction (LF) levels (T1-0%,T2-30%andT3-60%), with three eplications in field lysimeters.TDR robes were inserted at different distances and depths in he soil.Water samplers were inserted near eachTDR probe so that soil solution could be xtracted from soil and soil water content nd ECa could be observed at he same time by using TDR equipment. An empirical and parametric odel adapted from the one roposed VOGELER etal.(1997) in combination o a potential model was fitted to data of ECw, Ca, soil water content (O) and sodium concentration ollected in the lysimeters.Soil solution electrical conductivity nd sodium concentration of soil solution n field lysimeters was estimated reasonably by an adapted model of Vogeler et al.(1997) based up on readings of soil water content and bulk electrical conductivity. The best performance of the model corresponded to smaller salinity conditionsi n the soil (T1).
