Resumo: | The growing number of municipal solid waste in cities is resulting in major problems for public administrations. Currently about 58% of waste collected in Brazil are sent to landfills, and 42% are destined to inadequate locations. The problem is not only related to the appropriate area for the deposit of these residues, but with the natural production of methane, gas much more harmful to the environment than carbon dioxide itself, but with high calorific power. This work aimed to build, through statistical analysis methods, a model that allows predicting the production of biogas in a landfill. Simulations were performed using literature parameters, which have characteristics of Gaussian distributions. According to the simulations, it was possible to design a hypothetical model that takes into account the variability that occur with the waste deposited in a landfill. |
