Resumo: | The green belly stick bug Dichelops furcatus (Fabr.) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) is causing damages in corn fieldsin the Western region of Santa Catarina State, Brazil. The biology of this insect, characterizing their development stage, wasstudied at the Plant Protection Laboratory of Epagri/Cepaf adopting the temperature of 25 ± 2 ºC and photoperiod of 14hours and relative humidity of 60 ± 1%. The biological cycle (egg to adult) of this insect occurred in 36.53 ± 4.96 days allowingthe development of several generations per year. The sex ratio found for this species was 0.45. Each female laid 11.43 ± 3.25times having each posture 11.85 ± 1.06 eggs which had 91.72% viability. The adult longevity of males and females reachedrespectively 84.79 ± 17.06 and 112.38 ± 23.05 days. |
