Resumo: Bean anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum is the main disease constraint factorfor low yield in this crop. Disease resistance is one of the most efficient control methods and, in the case ofanthracnose, the cultivar resistance is directly associated to actual fungus races. The objective of this study was to identify the races present in severely infected plants grown in Ituporanga and Petrolândia, Santa Catarina,Brazil. After monosporic isolation, fungus race was determined by 12 differential cultivars. Isolates from both Alto Vale do Itajaí localities were identified as race 73.

A antracnose-do-feijoeiro causada por Colletotrichum lindemuthianum é considerada a principal doença dessa cultura, em função das perdas de produtividade que provoca nas lavouras atacadas. Uma das formasmais eficientes de controle dessa doença é por meio de cultivares resistentes. No caso da antracnose, a resistência de uma cultivar está diretamente relacionada às raças do fungo presentes na região de plantio. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo identificar a raça presente em duas lavouras severamente infectadas por C. lindemuthianum nos municípios de Ituporanga e Petrolândia. Após o isolamento monospórico do fungo identificou-se, com o auxílio de 12 cultivares diferenciadoras, a raça 73 a partir dos dois isolados coletados na Região do Alto Vale do Itajaí, em Santa Catarina.
