Effect of banana bunch cover and inseticides in the control of cork scab thrips Frankliniella brevicaulis (Thysanoptera: Thripidae)

Resumo: This study evaluated the effect of banana bunch cover with and without the protection of insecticides in the control of the corky scab thrips Frankliniella brevicaulis. The experiment was carried out at a banana crop in Corupá, Santa Catarina State, Brazil. The experimental design used was completely randomized with six treatments and five repetitions. The treatments were: 1) control test (without bag cover or insecticide protection); 2) polyethylene bag cover; 3) polyethylene bag cover with protection of neem oil 1%; 4) polyethylene bag cover with the protection of garlic and pepper solution 0.6%; 5) polyethylene bag cover with the protection of insecticide imidacloprid; and 6) polypropylene bag cover. The polyethylene banana bunch cover with the protection of insecticides imidacloprid and neem oil were more efficient in the control of thrips, while the treatment with polypropylene bag was not efficientagainst the pest.

Avaliou-se o efeito do ensacamento precoce do cacho de bananeira tratado e não tratado com inseticidas no controle do trips-da-erupção-do-fruto Frankliniella brevicaulis. O trabalho foi realizado num bananal localizado no município de Corupá, SC. O delineamento foi o inteiramente casualizado, com seis tratamentos e cinco repetições. Os tratamentos foram: 1) Testemunha (cachos sem ensacamento e sem proteção de inseticida); 2) Ensacamento do cacho com saco de polietileno; 3) Ensacamento do cacho com saco de polietileno + aplicação de óleo de Nim a 1%; 4) Ensacamento do cacho com saco de polietileno + aplicação de solução de alho e pimenta a 0,6%; 5) Ensacamento docacho com saco de polietileno + aplicação do inseticida imidacloprid a 0,6% e 6) Ensacamento do cacho com saco de tecido não tecido branco (TNT). Os cachos, protegidos precocemente com sacos de polietileno, com aplicação do inseticida imidacloprid e do óleo de Nim foram os mais eficazes no controle de trips, enquanto os sacos de polipropileno(TNT de cor branca) não ofereceram proteção no controle da praga.
