Dissimilarity among elite apple genotypes of Epagri based on phenotypic and molecular characterization

Resumo: | The distinction among apple genotypes is based on phenotypic descriptors, however, the use of molecular markers allows the characterization free of environmental effects. The objective of the work was to access the genetic variability among apple tree genotypes based on morphological and molecular descriptors, and to verify the efficiency of discrimination using different character sets. The cultivars Daiane, SCS417 Monalisa, SCS425 Luiza, SCS426 Venice, SCS427 Elenise, Epagri 405 Fuji Suprema, Galaxy and the selection M-10/09 were evaluated by 57 phenotypic descriptors and genetic markers generated by 12 sets of SSR primers. The genotypes were allocated at four distinct groups based on the performance for descriptors and at two groups considering the dissimilarity identified by 52 SSR markers and by combining minimal descriptors and genetic markers, suggesting greater robustness of the characterization when it contemplates the use of molecular markers. |

Logo, o objetivo deste trabalho foi caracterizar a variabilidade genética entre genótipos como copa de macieira utilizando descritores morfoagronômicos e moleculares, e verificar a eficiência de discriminação dos diferentes conjuntos de caracteres. Os cultivares Daiane, SCS417 Monalisa, SCS425 Luiza, SCS426 Venice, SCS427 Elenise, Epagri 405 Fuji Suprema, Galaxy e a seleção M-10/09 foram caracterizados para os 57 descritores mínimos e marcadores genéticos gerados por 12 conjuntos de iniciadores SSR. Os genótipos foram alocados em quatro grupos com base nos descritores mínimos, e em dois grupos ao considerar a dissimilaridade gerada por 52 marcadores SSR e pela combinação de descritores e marcadores genéticos, sugerindo maior robustez da caracterização quando esta contempla os marcadores moleculares.
