Resumo: | The fish feed is the main cost of production in fish farming, and thus feed management must be carried out accurately, avoiding waste. One way to gain more control is through automation. This study aimed to evaluate different types of automatic feeders, two commercial (AC1 and AC2) and a prototype developed by Epagri. For each model, tests were performedevaluating four feed particle sizes (1.3mm; 2.5mm; 4-5mm, and 6-8mm), with different levels of hopper filling (full, medium and empty), and with supply times of 1, 3, 5, 10, 20 and 30s. The parameter evaluated was the accuracy of feed supply (g),represented by the mean observed error (K). The prototype was effective in supplying all feeds, the commercial AC1 feeder was not suitable for 1.3mm diets, and the AC2 feeder only worked for 4-5mm and 6-8mm feed sizes. The test results make itpossible to conclude that the prototype developed by Epagri showed good accuracy, as well as the commercial models evaluated, in addition to being effectve for all evaluated feed particle sizes. |
