Resumo: | Abstract: The utilization of an efficient method of vegetative propagation of papaya fruit from identified plants will facilitate the production, because the preference to big fruits originated from hermaphrodite plants. Two experiments were conducted: (I) Aimed at inducing shoot in plants under field condition though pruning the plants at different heights (top, 20, 40 and 60 cm from the top). The results showed that the most drastic pruning induced the plant to produce a greater number of new shoots. (II) The new obtained shoots were used in the asepsis experiments, which were disinfected by the use of the Rifampicina, Agrimicina and Kasumin, added to the medium culture or used by immersion in the explants that were shaken by 24 hours. The explants that were kept in solution with disinfectants for 24 hours showed better results, mainly with Agrimicina and Rifampicina. |

Dois experimentos foram conduzidos: (I) Objetivouse a indução de brotações em condições de campo, com uso da poda em diferentes alturas (ápice, 20, 40 e 60cm do ápice). Constatou-se que a poda mais drástica aumentou o número de novas brotações emitidas. (II) As novas brotações obtidas após a poda foram desinfestadas usando os produtos Rifampicina, Agrimicina e Kasumin, adicionados ao meio de cultura e em imersão dos explantes sob agitação. Os melhores resultados foram observados quando os explantes foram mantidos em solução com desinfestantes por 24 horas, com Agrimicina e Rifampicina.
