Resumo: In order to evaluate the effects of the application of the mixture of lime mud, dregs and grits (LCDG), resultant from the cellulose industry process, on pH, P, Na, Ca, Mg, K and S in soil, an experiment was implemented on a typical Distrofc Red Latosol according to the Brazilian system of soil classifcation. The treatments were seven doses of LCDG, doses of dolomitc lime (CD) and calcitc lime (CC) and of a mixture of LCDG + CD needed to elevate the soil pH to 6 within a 20cm-deep layer. Treatments were arranged in randomized complete blocks, split-plots design with three replicatons. One year afer the frstapplicaton the treatments were reapplied as a split factor. The LCDG raised the pH in water, the levels of Ca, and the rato soil Ca/Mg untl the ffh year, and the levels of Na and P only in the frst year afer application. One year afer the applicaton, the contents of Na are below those mentioned as potential to disperse clays and make the soil salty. For a period of 5 years, theLCDG presented similar results to those of other correctives in relation to the ability to neutralize the acidity of the soil.
