Efficiency of vegetal oils and entomophatogenous fungus Beauveria bassiana in the control of Cosmopolites sordidus

Resumo: The efficiency of vegetal oils from soy and neem, and of entomophatogenous fungus Beauveriabassiana was assayed against adults of the banana weevil Cosmopolites sordidus. The experiment was carried out at the Entomology Laboratory of Epagri/Experiment Station of Itajaí, Santa Catarina. The experimental design used was completely randomized with six treatments and five repetitions. The evaluations were carried out 1, 3, 7, 14, 21 and 26 days after application. The mortality corrected was calculated by Abbott’s formula. Thestudy concluded that all the treatments based on the soy oil were efficient in the control of the banana weevil, in which the soy oil + B. bassiana + wheat flour, after seven days, reached 100% of efficiency, while the treatments with B. Bassiana and soy oil applied isolatedly reached 100% of efficiency after 26 days.

Avaliaram-se as eficiências dos óleos vegetais de soja e de nim e do fungo entomopatogênico Beauveria bassiana no controle de adultos de Cosmopolites sordidus (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). O experimento foi realizado no Laboratório de Entomologia da Epagri/Estação Experimental de Itajaí, Santa Catarina. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado com seis tratamentos e cinco repetições. As avaliações foram realizadas 1, 3, 7, 14, 21 e 26 dias após a aplicação e a mortalidade corrigida pela fórmula de Abbott. Os tratamentos à base de óleo de soja foram eficientes no controle da praga, destacando-se o tratamento com óleo de soja + B. bassiana + farinha de trigo, que, após 7 dias, alcançou 100% de eficiência, enquanto os tratamentos commassa fúngica de B. bassiana e óleo de soja, aplicados isoladamente, alcançaram 100% de eficiência após 26 dias.
