Mental Health during Coronavirus Pandemic: psychoeducational videos as a relevant intervention in Primary Health Care

In 2020, WHO declared an outbreak of the new coronavirus, encouraging several countries to take measures to prevent its dispersion, such as social distance and control of the circulation of people and services. These interventions have profound social, economic and emotional impacts on the lives of people, groups and communities. In order to intervene on the main psychosocial demands of the population arising from the context in the pandemic context, this article aimed to discuss the production of psychoeducational videos in primary care named “Mental Health During Coronavirus Pandemic”, which were intended to develop the public's personal resources and promote mental health. So far four relevant themes have been addressed according to the literature: general mental health, mental health of health professionals, family conflicts and domestic violence. The use of media resources, such as videos, proves to be adequate to the current moment, however it has limitations, such as the public's difficulties to access the videos and the coordination of individualized care. Therefore, it is necessary that this is not the only strategy used and that future studies are carried out to assess its impact in a more systematic way.
