Introduction: From the Psychiatric Reform, together with the development of the National Mental Health Policy, the way of planning the therapeutic conducts of psychiatric patients became broader and with a focus on the singularities of the subject, making it understood the importance and the need to build a Single Therapeutic Plan to better monitor this care. Objective: To describe the experience of applying the Arco de Maguerez method and its stages in the construction of the instrument "Follow-up of the Therapeutic Plan" in a mental health outpatient clinic in the Federal District.Methodology : Descriptive study, with a qualitative approach, of the report type experience, developed through the stages of the Arco de Maguerez method, carried out during the Multiprofessional Residency program in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Conclusion: The proposed intervention was well accepted by the team, but due to the difficulties present in the routine of the service, there was some resistance from the workers to adhere to new work processes. Through experience, one realizes the importance of continuing to apply the instrument for validation and implementation purposes.
