Surgical site infection in breast implant implants: an integrative literature review

Resumo: Objective: To analyze the literature describing surgical site infections in breast implant implants. Method: This is an integrative literature review, in the BVS and PUBMED databases. Results and discussion: 198 articles were collected through the search in the database, and 21 articles were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study, in which a relationship was evidenced between risk factors such as: comorbidities, age, BMI, chronic diseases, use of drains leading to a higher incidence of SSI. Conclusion: However, the integrative review concluded the importance of knowledge related to the implantation of breast implants, in addition to professional updating, offering a quality of care, aiming at patient safety.

Método: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, nas bases de dados BVS e PUBMED. Resultados e discussão: Foram levantados 198 artigos através da busca na base de dados, sendo que 21 artigos foram selecionados conforme o critério de inclusão e exclusão do estudo, no qual foi evidenciado uma relação entre os fatores de risco como: as comorbidades, idade, IMC, doenças crônicas, uso de dreno acarretando uma maior incidência de ISC.
