Resumo: This paper aims to analyze the limitations and potentialities of serving the homeless population in a Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs located in the Federal District. This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, in which the mental health care process of people living on the streets in the aforementioned CAPS was analyzed. The methodology used for data collection was the field diary, in which the author recorded data related to the topic during a six-month experience in this scenario, based on pre-established categories. The results obtained showed that there are positive practices and experiences in this health service, but they are insufficient and restricted for mental health care in a broad and effective to the homeless user.

Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, do tipo relato de experiência, em que foi analisado o processo de cuidado à saúde mental das pessoas em situação de rua no referido CAPS. A metodologia utilizada para a coleta de dados foi a de diário de campo, na qual a autora realizou o registro dos dados relativos ao tema durante a vivência de seis meses nesse cenário, a partir de categorias pré-estabelecidas.
