Resumo: Objective: to identify the main ethical-moral conflicts in nursing practice in the operating room of a public hospital in the Federal District. Method: exploratory research with a quantitative and qualitative approach, carried out with professionals from the operating room. A collection instrument was created composed of sociodemographic and open questions where we deal with ethical impasses and the respective professional conduct in the face of their experience - the interviews were audio recorded in a maximum of 15 minutes. Results and discussion: 10 professionals, all female, participated in public tenders. The word cloud highlighted the word 'conflict' as the most talked about among the interviewees, which ultimately generated the creation of 4 thematic categories. Conclusion: The study demonstrated that nurses and nursing technicians live daily with various ethical-moral conflicts that cause fears and anguish. We conclude that changes in the health team's posture are necessary and be incorporated into the ethical training of professionals, supported by theoretical methodological references of bioethics.
