Resumo: This article aims to analyze the Francis Pope’s Encyclical Laudato Si dedicated to the environment within the complex context of the International Environmental Law. The text seeks to address the papal concern about the care of the common house the Mother Earth, our planet, which calls for a fast acting of the developed states in view of the threat of destruction because of global warming occurred by climate change being such struggle a moral imperative to save humanity from greed and indifference of the rich persons. Utilizing the deductive method as to the assertions and preoccupations of Pope Francis and exploratory research in bibliographical survey the study proposes a reflection on the universal responsibility and the planetary solidarity by the importance of dialogue front of damage caused to the Mother Earth because of the economic profit and the lack of effectiveness of international conventions on the environment.

O texto procura abordar a preocupação papal sobre o cuidado da casa comum que é a mãe Terra, o nosso planeta, que clama por um agir rápido dos Estados desenvolvidos em face da ameaça de destruição devido ao aquecimento global acarretada pelas mudanças climáticas, sendo tal luta um imperativo moral para salvar a humanidade da ganância e da indiferença dos ricos.
