Resumo: In view of this moment, nursing had to reinvent itself for months without proven scientific bases in the face of care for patients affected by the still little known virus. This study aimed to identify the difficulties faced by nursing professionals regarding their care directed to patients affected by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This is a cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach, carried out through a structured questionnaire using the Google Forms platform, sent to professionals who worked in the care of patients affected by the SARS-CoV-2 virus at the Complexo Hospitalar Regional Deputy Janduy Carneiro located in the city of Patos in the state of Paraíba (CAAE approval number: 61344322.6.0000.5181). In the meantime, 21 professionals (11 nursing technicians and 8 nurses) answered the questionnaire, in which it was observed that the most relevant difficulties were food restriction and physiological eliminations due to the prolonged use of PPE (57.1%), longer working time with increased physical exhaustion (100%) and difficulties in dressing up (47.6%). There is a need for permanent education in health services aimed at training and qualifying healthcare professionals in the management of infectious and contagious diseases. In addition to the need to value the work of nursing with regard to living wages, reduction of workload, decent work environments, sufficient personal protective equipment and equipment necessary to carry out the assistance.

In addition to the need to value the work of nursing with regard to living wages, reduction of workload, decent work environments, sufficient personal protective equipment and equipment necessary to carry out the assistance. Sustenere Publishing2023-08-10info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/831710.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2023.002.0008Scire Salutis; Vol. 13 No. 2 (2023): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2023; 96-103Scire Salutis; Vol. 13 Núm. 2 (2023): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2023; 96-103Scire Salutis; v. 13 n. 2 (2023): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2023; 96-1032236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporenghttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/8317/4440https://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/8317/4439Copyright (c) 2023 Scire Salutishttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSilva, Mayara Joventina Medeiros Vieira, Ianne Stéfani Angelim Caldas, Mona Lisa Lopes dos Santos Oliveira, Silvia Ximenes Pontes, Amélia Raquel Lima de Batista, Yoná Ayres Dantas 2023-12-29T22:29:37Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/8317Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-12-29T22:29:37Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
