Childbirth is a crucial moment in a woman's life and requires the attention of several health professionals, including the nurse, because through their technical knowledge they are able to insert good practices, reduce pain, help women through non-professional methods. pharmacological, as well as providing care to the parturient and solving possible doubts. The objective of this paper is to present the performance of the nursing team in natural vaginal birth and humanized, taking into account the institutionalization process of cesarean delivery and the main characteristics that make natural birth a safe option for mothers and babies. This is an integrative literature review, the databases used are: NCBI/PubMed (National Center for BiotechnologyInformation), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Lirary Online), Academic Google and Lilacs - Bireme (Latin American Literature and the Caribbean in Health Sciences). To delimit the contents, inclusion criteria were used: articles available in full, in Portuguese and English, published from 2014 to 2021 with free access with thematic relevance. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 10 articles were selected to be analyzed in this review article. In which they demonstrate the use of Cesario's delivery in an elective way, as there is a mystification with regard to the pain of childbirth. However, through the nursing team, awareness of the benefits for the parturient and the unborn child, it is possible to clarify and help so that the delivery occurs in a humanized and vaginal way, and with clarification that the Cesarean delivery will only be necessary in cases with indication doctor. The humanization of nursing care for parturients can produce important results, as awareness is an excellent tool for these women to be able to have their babies safely with the help of a professional and ethical nurse.
