Resumo: Foodborne diseases (FBD) are those caused by eating contaminated food and / or water. There are more than 250 types of DTA in the world, most of which are infections caused by bacteria and their toxins, viruses and other parasites. DTA corresponds to the syndrome that usually consists of anorexia, nausea, vomiting and / or diarrhea, with or without fever. An outbreak of ATD is considered when two or more people have a similar disease or symptoms after eating food and / or water from the same source, usually in the same place. Based on the above analysis, the present study aimed to present the epidemiological profile of outbreaks of foodborne diseases in Brazil from 2008 to 2018. Between January 2008 and December 2018, Brazil recorded 7,543 outbreaks, where 696,148 people were exposed, of those exposed, 130,923 became ill and 17,801 needed to be hospitalized, with 125 people dying from ATD and the lethality score was 0.09%. The mapping of DTA provides subsidies for the development of political, educational, legislative measures, prioritization of research areas and evaluation of food-borne outbreak control programs. The challenges of the DTA surveillance teams are to create measures that standardize the reports in all Brazilian regions, reduce the differences between the surveillance systems between different countries and minimize the time between the communication of the outbreak and the beginning of the investigations.

Sustenere Publishing2022-05-18info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/664710.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2022.002.0035Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 No. 2 (2022): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2022; 335-348Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 Núm. 2 (2022): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2022; 335-348Scire Salutis; v. 12 n. 2 (2022): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2022; 335-3482236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporenghttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/6647/3789https://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/6647/3788Copyright (c) 2022 Scire Salutishttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGonçalves, Bruna Vaz da SilvaBarberini, Isis ReginaFurtado, Silvana Krychak2023-08-03T13:33:39Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/6647Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-08-03T13:33:39Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
