Resumo: The study aims to analyze the work of the material and sterilization center team - CME, and the risk of infections in the surgical center. It is a descriptive, exploratory research, through research, articles and books. The results show the description of the procedures involved in the sterilization process, and the risk of contamination by acquiring a surgical site infection (SSI). It is included then to look for a possibility of the reduction of failures. In the work process at CME. To reduce the risk of transmission of infections in the operating room during surgeries. Descriptive, exploratory review, comprising the search engines Google Scholar, Scielo, Ministry of Health, book Possari (2010), National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA). Dated from 2010 to 2019. There is a problem that is almost never talked about, as some patient has already had an infection acquired in the operating room, whether this infection is caused by CME or not. The impacts caused by infections acquired in a surgical center, especially the complaints received by patients, so always guide the importance of safe surgery, explaining the success of the surgery even the risks. In view of the facts presented in the work, the relevance of the MSC stands out, taking into account the entire structure of the surgical center and the training of professionals who live in the Center for Sterilization Materials and in the surgical site.

Sustenere Publishing2023-01-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/766210.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2022.003.0014Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 No. 3 (2022): Scire Salutis - Mai, Jun, Jul 2022; 114-121Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 Núm. 3 (2022): Scire Salutis - Mai, Jun, Jul 2022; 114-121Scire Salutis; v. 12 n. 3 (2022): Scire Salutis - Mai, Jun, Jul 2022; 114-1212236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporenghttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/7662/4251https://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/7662/4250Copyright (c) 2023 Scire Salutishttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSiliprandi, Ivana de Castro Bringel, Andiara Siqueira Alves, Larissa Luz 2023-08-03T13:33:12Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/7662Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-08-03T13:33:12Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
