Resumo: Enteroparsites are prevalent in babies who have precarious conditions of basic sanitation and hygiene. The objective of this study was to analyze the prevalence of intestinal parasites and associated risk factors in residents of the quilombola community District Nossa Senhora Aparecida do Chumbo Poconé-MT. The Hoffman technique was used in 114 Sample and application of a manual. For descriptive analysis, absolute frequency and percentage were performed for categorical variables and measures of central tendency and dispersion for quantitative ones. A prevalence calculation was performed to determine the total prevalence and the prevalence by type of parasite. In the analysis of proportion, Pearson's chi-square test and Fisher's exact test were used when the expected values were <5. For association analysis, the binary logistic regression test and the multicollinearity test were performed. The total prevalence was 75%, with the highest occurrence being Blastocystis sp. Risk factors were observed, safe animal at home (OR: 4.958; CI: 1.100-22.351; p=0.037), washing hands sometimes before preparing food (OR; 5.939; CI: 0.941-37.46 ; p=0.05) and the highest number of rooms per household (OR: 1.667; CI: 1.058-2.627; p=0.02). Protection factors, consuming mineral water (OR 0.084; CI: 0.019 – 0.366; p<0.001) and the lowest number of residents per household (OR: 0.641; CI: 0.433-0.950; p=0.027). Our results show a need for investment in basic sanitation and healthy hygiene habits against intestinal parasites.

Our results show a need for investment in basic sanitation and healthy hygiene habits against intestinal parasites. Sustenere Publishing2023-06-19info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/819810.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2023.002.0004Scire Salutis; Vol. 13 No. 2 (2023): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2023; 39-53Scire Salutis; Vol. 13 Núm. 2 (2023): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2023; 39-53Scire Salutis; v. 13 n. 2 (2023): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2023; 39-532236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporenghttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/8198/4432https://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/8198/4431Copyright (c) 2023 Scire Salutishttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessTarga, Simone MineiroBarros, Lucas França de Hartwig, Shaiana Vilella Malheiros, Antonio Francisco2023-12-29T22:29:37Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/8198Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-12-29T22:29:37Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
