Control and consumption of psychodrugs and the pharmacist's performance: an integrative review

Resumo: Psychotropic drugs are drugs considered chemical agents, and when in contact with the human organism, they can interfere with the behavior, mood and even the patient's consciousness, because of these changes it becomes necessary for the pharmacist to contribute to the use aware of these drugs through monitoring at the drugstore in their offices. In this way, the objective of this work is to analyze the control and consumption of psychotropic drugs in the performance of the clinical pharmacist. This is an integrative literature review, applying analytical and qualitative research methods. Articles between the years 2014-2022 were analyzed, in which there was an analysis of 10 articles dealing with the theme of work. Pharmacists, based on their extensive professional training, are led to understand the different areas of expertise and work on clinical issues through the knowledge obtained. In this way, the pharmacist is a professional who can assist the patient in the use of psychotropic drugs. In this way, it is possible to understand the role of the clinical pharmacist in patient care for the promotion of the rational use of medicines, to invest more in the humanization of pharmacies so that they become a reference in patient and drug care.

Desta forma, o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o controle e consumo de psicofármacos na atuação do farmacêutico clínico. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, com aplicação dos métodos analítico e qualitativo de pesquisa. Foram analisados artigos entre os anos de 2014-2022, nos quais houve a análise de 10 artigos tratando sobre a temática do trabalho. Os farmacêuticos, com base em sua extensa formação profissional, são conduzidos a compreender as diversas áreas de atuação e trabalhar em questões clínicas através do conhecimento obtido. Desta forma, o farmacêutico é um profissional que pode auxiliar o paciente na utilização de psicofármacos.
