Resumo: The health of the health professional must also be a problem faced by society from both an academic and a social perspective. With the incidence of the pandemic, there was an increase in the cases of infected patients and as a result of not having adequate treatment, or even a vaccine, the Covid-19 front-line nurses isolated themselves from their families and somehow started to live in the hospitals to meet demand. To discuss the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the mental health of nurses working on the frontline of covid-19 and the development of anxiety, depression and stress at work. This is an integrative literature review, the databases used are: NCBI/PubMed (National Center for BiotechnologyInformation), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Lirary Online), Academic Google and Lilacs - Bireme (Latin American Literature and the Caribbean in Health Sciences). To delimit the contents, inclusion criteria were used: articles available in full, in Portuguese and English, published in the period from 2020 to 2021 with free access and dealing with the topic. The overload in the health system caused a very high rate of development of anxiety and depression, especially in nurses, because, with the incidence of serial deaths, the lack of PPE - adequate protection and safety equipment, the fight for The patient's life became solely and exclusively the result of this professional's effort, in addition to the need for social distance from his family nucleus. The pandemic caused chaos in the health system, but it also left marks on the surviving nurses, as there was an increase in diseases such as anxiety, depression and stress in all analyzed studies. Thus, it is important to prioritize safety measures and the current vaccination campaign in order to avoid a new health collapse, and also to provide nurses and other health professionals with psychological follow-up to promote mental health.

Sustenere Publishing2021-10-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/643210.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2022.001.0016Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 No. 1 (2022): Scire Salutis - Out, Nov, Dez 2021, Jan 2022; 139-147Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 Núm. 1 (2022): Scire Salutis - Out, Nov, Dez 2021, Jan 2022; 139-147Scire Salutis; v. 12 n. 1 (2022): Scire Salutis - Out, Nov, Dez 2021, Jan 2022; 139-1472236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporenghttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/6432/3456https://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/6432/3477Copyright (c) 2021 Scire Salutishttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSousa, Crislley Ramyellen Botelho deRibeiro, Mackissine BritoSousa, Patrícia Maria Lima Silva de2023-01-04T20:16:22Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/6432Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-01-04T20:16:22Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
