Resumo: The present study aims to verify the efficiency of a set of therapeutic practices and physiotherapy to the pain decrease and to the mobility recovering in the Temporomandibular joint, from treatment of a patient with chronic disease of moderate Temporomandibular joint disorder associated to Bruxism. Physiotherapy intervention was composed by associated technics of handing therapy, electrotherapy and kinesiotherapy, educational instructions to reduce the parafunctional habits and improve the postural adequacy were also employed. Pain levels were verified by the Analogical Visual Scale. The results maintenance was verified in 15, 30 and 60 days after the treatment ends. The physiotherapeutic technics promoted improvement in the mandibular joint mobility (increase of 1.13cm) and decreasing in the pain sensation indicated by the patient. However, 60 days after the treatment ends, the noticed results presented a relapse of ca. 103% in the range of mouth opening and fluctuation in the pain levels. Performing multiple technics to treat associated chronic joint diseases, such as Bruxism and TMJD, is favorable for good results, however, to the results maintenance is suggested for not interrupting the treatment abruptly, being necessary physiotherapy  sessions in intervals no longer than 15 days.

Sustenere Publishing2021-03-08info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/CBPC2236-9600.2021.002.000510.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2021.002.0005Scire Salutis; Vol. 11 No. 2 (2021): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr, Mai 2021; 42-50Scire Salutis; Vol. 11 Núm. 2 (2021): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr, Mai 2021; 42-50Scire Salutis; v. 11 n. 2 (2021): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr, Mai 2021; 42-502236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/CBPC2236-9600.2021.002.0005/2799Copyright (c) 2021 Scire Salutisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPoppe, Débora NunesWarpechowski, Tânia ReginaPoppe, Jean Lucas2023-01-04T20:17:04Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/5172Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-01-04T20:17:04Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
