Resumo: Education, as a key step in the process of formation and constitution of the human group from interactions and social relations, can count on the diversity and the richness composed by different ethnic-racial groups of the Brazilian population. Our challenge is to advance on the discussion of educational practices in the teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture in the school stages of basic education, elementary and high schools in official and private institutions. Starting from a concept which comprehends a political and emancipatory aspect of education, committed and articulated to the libertarian training of human groups, this article discusses the learning processes and the teacher training from the self-image and self-identification, considering the history, culture and black identity. This article discusses the educational process and training of teachers given the history, culture and black identity, seeking to articulate two experiments related to the theme of diversity as follows: a) an extended experience of living with children in the community quilombola Ivaporunduva capturing the ways of this child community, b) the experience with teacher training in pedagogy course the difficulty of attracting students about the treatment of ethnic racial issues with their students. The paper proposes educational processes that include the different ways of being a child.

The paper proposes educational processes that include the different ways of being a child.
