A reading of gender from power relations in Brazilian Pentecostalism

Resumo: From a historical and sociological reading is intended to describe the design of women's ministry within the existing power relations in Brazilian Pentecostalism, especially in the Assembly of God Church. It seeks to present how to establish the relations of power in its internal structure and the conception of women's ministry, from the missionary work developed by Frida Vingren. Concomitantly, it auscultates the decisions of the General Conventions on this subject. Favoring the constituent elements and internal and external factors that enabled the organization in a hierarchical way that this church has, emphasizing sociological analysis of the specific structure of the Pentecostal religion. It is also proposed to analyze this system of government in light of Foucault's conception of power. The conflict and struggle for the establishment and maintenance of power / domination and the establishment and maintenance of women's autonomy is the power relations in Pentecostalism a central category of analysis in this article.

Busca apresentar como se estabelecem as relações de poder em sua estrutura interna e a concepção acerca do ministério feminino, a partir do trabalho missionário desenvolvido por Frida Vingren. Concomitantemente, ausculta-se as decisões das Convenções Gerais acerca desse assunto. Privilegiando os elementos constitutivos e fatores internos e externos que propiciaram a organização na forma hierarquizada que essa igreja assume, enfatizando análises sociológicas das especificidades da estrutura religiosa pentecostal. Propõe-se ainda analisar este sistema de governo à luz da concepção foucaultiana de poder.  O conflito e a luta pelo estabelecimento e manutenção do poder/dominação, bem como, o estabelecimento e a manutenção da autonomia das mulheres fazem das relações de poder no pentecostalismo uma das categorias centrais da análise deste artigo.
