Resumo: The article develops the theme of God abandonment on Jesus cross, inquiring about the theological sense mediated by itself, in the light of the Gospels. This reflection establishes a connection between the abandonment presented in the Synoptic Gospels and the Gospel of John, from the mediating category, love. To the extent that the reasoning develops the mediating category is revealed as hermeneutical key to access the theological sense(s) of abandonment.
