Resumo: The approach to this issue focuses on the theme of the 1st Symposium of the Latin American Network of Homiletics (RedLah). It presents the following propositions: the need for an adequate concept of God and the biblical foundation in preaching; the importance of prioritizing the form, without devaluing the content of the discourse; and the challenge of developing a work of quality  and objectivity, motivating changes without intimidating the listener.
