Resumo: This study aims to promote reflection on the Liturgy of the Hours and its adapted form, the Divine Office of Communities, through the prism of the Aparecida Document. It is a qualitative research adopting bibliographic review as the instrument of analysis. The discussion of the relation of the Divine Office with the common priesthood of all the people of God was fomented; its proposal of reinterpretation of human reality, showing the unity of its meaning. This paper also put a light on the possible tension between the inculturated form of the rite in a Latin American reality and its typical Roman edition; the opportunities of a mystagogical deepening of faith; as well as its role as a source of spirituality and biblical meditation.
