Resumo: | The study aimed to analyze the creation of micro and small business of the creative economy. Specifically intended to identify the sources of inspiration for the design and development of the idea; check how entrepreneurs evaluated and explored business opportunities; analyze the activities carried out during the period of preparation and conception, and finally report the difficulties observed during the creation phases. The research method adopted was the multiple case studies and were elected five cases according to the classification presented by UNCTAD (2010). Some results were noted such as that the business were found in different sectors of the creative economy and have generally little operation time. The business ideas originated essentially based on previous experience and knowledge acquired by entrepreneurs throughout their lives in areas that had personal interest. All entrepreneurs foresee on family and friends fundamental sources of support for the creation of the business, so that they could devote themselves to their enterprises. Among the identified obstacles, was the lack of recognition of the market, followed by difficulty in hiring qualified employees, establish partnerships and sell your products / services. |

Pretendeu-se especificamente identificar as fontes de inspiração para concepção e desenvolvimento da ideia; verificar como os empreendedores avaliaram e exploraram as oportunidades de negócio; analisar as atividades realizadas no período de preparação e gestação e, por fim, relatar os obstáculos percebidos durante a fase de criação. O método de pesquisa adotado foi o de estudos de casos múltiplos e foram selecionados cinco casos de acordo com a classificação apresentada pela UNCTAD (2010). Como resultados pode-se destacar que os negócios analisados atuam em diferentes setores da economia criativa e possuem, em geral, pouco tempo em atividade. As ideias dos negócios foram originadas essencialmente com base em experiências anteriores e conhecimentos adquiridos pelos empreendedores ao longo de suas vidas em áreas que possuíam interesse pessoal. Todos os empreendedores enxergaram na família e nos amigos as fontes fundamentais de apoio durante a criação do negócio, contribuindo para que pudessem dedicar-se aos seus empreendimentos. Dentre os obstáculos identificados, o maior deles foi a ausência de reconhecimento do mercado, seguida pela dificuldade em contratar funcionários qualificados, estabelecer parcerias e vender seus produtos/serviços.
