Resumo: | This article searches to reflect on the problem of evil in the thought of Augustine (354-430) and the French philosopher Paul Ricoeur (1913-2005). In spite of their distance in time, both discuss in their works the origin of evil, a question that has been a challenged in philosophy, as well as in theology. What is the origin of evil? As a theologian and shepherd of people, Augustine will explain the problem of evil based on the Sacred Scriptures. As for Ricoeur, being a philosopher and, therefore, without the intention to get at an answer to the origin of evil, he invites his readers to go through the path of reflection, practice and spiritualization. |

Qual a origem do mal?
