Resumo: Usually, Augustine is studied as a theological man, who in all things sees the presence and action of God. However, this consideration was not for him an obstacle to take attention to the physical world around him, and to the properties of water, fire, and other things, besides the movement of the stars. Some of his main interests were numbers calculations, and the nature of time. To those scattered observations of Augustine is not quite correct to call a cosmology, but it exists in the sense that, behind that way to consider the universe, there is a theological method which is a view that includes, at the same time, anthropological and physical aspects. Besides, the cosmos displays order, beauty, and it is a sign of the Creator.

Faculdade São Basílio Magno (FASBAM)2021-01-07info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigo avaliado pelos Paresapplication/pdfhttps://fasbam.edu.br/pesquisa/periodicos/index.php/basiliade/article/view/27810.35357/2596-092X.v3n5p51-84/2021Basilíade - Journal of Philosophy; Vol. 3 No. 5 (2021): Augustine of Hippo and the Philosophy; 51-84Basilíade - Revista de Filosofia; v. 3 n. 5 (2021): Santo Agostinho e a Filosofia; 51-842596-092X10.35357/2596-092X.v3n5reponame:Basilíade - Revista de Filosofiainstname:Faculdade São Basílio Magno (FASBAM)instacron:FASBAMporhttps://fasbam.edu.br/pesquisa/periodicos/index.php/basiliade/article/view/278/144Copyright (c) 2021 João Eduardo Pinto Basto Lupihttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPinto Basto Lupi, João Eduardo2021-01-07T19:06:23Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/278Revistahttps://fasbam.edu.br/pesquisa/periodicos/index.php/basiliadePRIhttps://fasbam.edu.br/pesquisa/periodicos/index.php/basiliade/oaiperiodicos@fasbam.edu.br2596-092X2596-092Xopendoar:2023-01-13T10:35:38.307152Basilíade - Revista de Filosofia - Faculdade São Basílio Magno (FASBAM)false
