The use of technology in the teaching process during the coronavirus pandemic. Case study: colégio caminhos do saber

Resumo: The city of São Vicente is located in the Metropolitan Region of Baixada Santista, on the southern coast of the state of São Paulo. Its economy revolves around commerce, services, tourism and leisure. The Vincentian population, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE, 2020), is estimated at 368,355 inhabitants. During the season, on weekends and holidays, the population increases considerably, due to the flow of tourists, who move to the municipality, in order to enjoy its beaches and the leisure and fun activities that the city offers. In March 2020, due to the appearance of the first cases of coronavirus in the Baixada Santista region, to which the city is inserted, there was a need to adopt measures of social isolation, with the objective of interrupting, the transmission and contagion of the disease , known as, Corona Virus Disease 19, caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS COV 2). Social isolation interrupted all activities considered non-essential by municipal authorities, which resulted in significant changes in Vincentian society, directly impacting educational activities, paralyzing the school year of students enrolled in schools in the municipality. The educational authorities sought viable alternatives, to remedy this educational gap, so that students would not suffer the academic year harmed. Remote education emerged as an alternative for returning to classes, safely and respecting social isolation, during the pandemic. This article appeared after the beginning of the crisis generated in the educational processes, to face the pandemic of COVID-19. With this, it intends to stimulate the discussion about the use of technology in the teaching process and serve as a basis for future research on the theme.

Sua economia gira em torno do comércio, da prestação de serviços, do turismo e do lazer. A população vicentina, segundo o Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE, 2020), está estimada em 368.355 habitantes. Durante o período de temporada, nos finais de semana e feriados, a população aumenta, consideravelmente, devido ao fluxo de turistas, que se deslocam para o município, a fim de usufruir de suas praias e das atividades de lazer e diversão, que a cidade oferece. Em março de 2020, devido ao aparecimento dos primeiros casos de coronavírus na região da Baixada Santista, à qual a cidade está inserida, houve a necessidade da adoção de medidas de isolamento social, com o objetivo de interromper a transmissão e o contágio da doença, conhecida como Corona Virus Disease 19, causada pelo Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS COV 2). O isolamento social interrompeu todas as atividades consideradas não essenciais pelas autoridades municipais, o que resultou em mudanças significativas na sociedade vicentina, impactando diretamente nas atividades educacionais, paralisando o ano letivo dos estudantes matriculados nas escolas do município. As autoridades educacionais buscaram alternativas viáveis, para sanar está lacuna educacional, para que os estudantes não tivessem o ano letivo prejudicado. O ensino remoto, surgiu como alternativa, para o retorno das aulas, de forma segura e respeitando o isolamento social, durante a pandemia. O presente artigo surgiu após o início da crise gerada nos processos educacionais, para o enfrentamento da pandemia do COVID-19.
