Resumo: In view of the growth of enterprises managed by women today, we sought to analyze female entrepreneurship in the ceramic center of Teresina/Piauí, highlighting the motivations, and perspectives for the future and listing the difficulties they face in the pursuit of professional fulfillment as a woman. Thus, qualitative research was made, through interviews; and quantitative research, using socioeconomic profile questionnaires. Seven female entrepreneurs participated in the research, out of a total of 14, this sample was non-probabilistic, but accessibility. The data revealed the prevalence of entrepreneurship by necessity. The main problem reported was the difficulty balancing work and family responsibilities. There was a great influence of age with a vision of the future in the enterprise, the older women entrepreneurs do not see changes, unlike the younger women. It was concluded thae female entrepreneurs despite the difficulties suffered by the creation or maintenance of their companies have professional satisfaction. professional satisfaction.

Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, através de entrevistas; e quantitativa, com o uso de questionários de perfil socioeconômicos. Sete empreendedoras participaram da pesquisa, de um total de 14, essa amostra foi não probabilística e por acessibilidade. Os dados revelaram a predominância do empreendedorismo por necessidade. O principal problema relatado foi a dificuldade em equilibrar as responsabilidades do trabalho e da família. Verificou-se grande influência da idade com a visão de futuro no empreendimento, as empreendedoras mais idosas não vislumbram mudanças, ao contrário das mais jovens.
