Organizational control analysis of craftspeople after their formalization in the individual micro-entrepreneur program in the state of Paraiba

This study aims at observing the scenario of the organizational control related to microentrepreneurs who work on handicraft activity, in the city of João Pessoa, after their formalization in MEI. For that, a predominantly quantitative approach research was carried out through the application of questionnaires to about 80 artisans. However, only 26 questionnaires were answered, since the research was restricted to entrepreneurs formalized in MEI. The collected data were organized and tabulated through spreadsheets. In this study, it was concluded that the survey respondents have already performed organizational control of their company, however, they do not know the effective value of accounts payable, receivable and inventory. It demonstrates that this control may not be so effective what does not generate useful information for these craftspeople. According to the respondents, there were no significant changes after their formalization in MEI. The study has also concluded that 40 respondents are not formalized, what indicates that, although the government tries to make the legalization process simpler and more accessible, these craftspeople are still informal.
