Resumo: The use of wind tunnels have been received increasing attention to applications that differ from wing studies,aerodynamic studies of vehicles and other surveys, which are more easily conceived by common sense. The literature has reported the use of wind tunnels in order to understand the dynamics of the spread of agricultural pragues that happens to occur in the air. Efficient aerial applications of pesticides, study of dispersion of insecticides from the wind incident in application nozzles are some notorious applications and running of common sense. Other applications involve structural analyses of communication antennas that are highly susceptible to wind, applications in the study of condensers of power plants, didactic application in teaching of engineering and others. In this work, we developed a wind tunnel with dimensions of 700 x 700 x 3,500 mm (height x width x length) and proposed an application to helical wind generators.

A literatura tem reportado o emprego de túneis de vento para compreensão da dinâmica do espalhamento de pragas agrícolas que ocorrem via aérea. Aplicações aéreas eficientes de defensivos agrícolas, como o estudo da dispersão de inseticidas a partir do vento incidente nos bicos de aplicação são algumas aplicações notáveis e que fogem do senso comum. Há aplicações que envolvem as análises estruturais de torres de antenas de comunicação que são altamente susceptíveis ao vento, aplicações no estudo de condensadores de usinas de energia, aplicação didática no ensino da engenharia e outras.
