Pandemics directly and indirectly affect the functioning of different sectors of the economy, and the consequences of this phenomenon may be specific to each sector. Some are impacted more negatively, while others may even benefit economically. In view of this fact, this study aims to investigate the entrepreneurial skills of small fashion retail business owners in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. For this, qualitative research of descriptive character was applied with eight entrepreneurs in a city in the interior of the state of Ceará. The results indicate that the entrepreneurs have developed in practice the entrepreneurial skills of the realization and planning groups as well as the entrepreneurial skills of assertiveness and emotional control and dealing with risks and difficulties. This research is relevant, as it contributes to the understanding of the management of entrepreneurial competences of the owners of SMEs that work in fashion retail, considering the conjuncture of crisis created by the pandemic of COVID-19.
