Resumo: The social isolation imposed by the Covid-19 The social isolation imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 challenged different sectors of activity, including public security, which sought alternatives to foster the State-society relationship supported by the Electronic Government, specifically, community policing practices, which presuppose proximity to the community. This article aims to analyze the performance of Brazilian military police on the Instagram social network, during the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, an online documentary research was carried out on the official profiles of the 27 Brazilian military police forces. Content Analysis of the posts resulted in images of the police, society and their interactions in two final categories: the strong arm and the helping hand. The military police do not exploit the full potential of online social networks as tools for community e-policing, in the valorization of e-participation and e-democracy.
