Resumo: This paper addresses the issue of protection and treatment of sensitive personal data related to electronic monitoring services, indicating illegal discriminatory practices, especially in sharing data with police institutions, which increase the subjection of persons monitored electronically to stigmatization and new criminalization processes. The analysis considers official data on electronic monitoring published by the National Penitentiary Department, national and international regulations on the subject, sociological and critical criminology references, as well as data obtained from field research, including visits and observation of work routines in Electronic Monitoring Centers of several States in Brazil between the years of 2015 and 2018.
