Who is afraid of the teacher? The hate speech addressed to teachers in virtual space

Resumo: The article proposes to analyze, in the light of the theoretical-methodological framework of Pêcheux’s discourse analysis, the way in which the discursive place of the subject-teacher has been (re)positioned by hate narratives produced in the virtual space. The analysis shows the production of effects of animalization and demonization of the position of teacher-educator, which manipulates the discourse in order to justify both the violence against the position and its extermination, given that it is projected as an abject, unworthy and harmful figure. The analytical exercise undertaken constitutes a problematizing gesture of the contemporary conjuncture, seeking to expose the practices by which the teaching category has been stigmatized and discredited in a socio-historical moment of growing ultraconservatism and the affirmation of hatred.

Los análisis muestran la producción de efectos de animalización y demonización de la posición que aquí llamamos docente-educador, que opera el discurso para justificar tanto la violencia contra esta posición como su exterminio, ya que se proyecta como una figura abyecta, indigna y dañina. El ejercicio analítico realizado constituye un gesto problematizador de la coyuntura contemporánea, buscando (d)enunciar las prácticas por las cuales la categoría docente ha sido estigmatizada y desacreditada en un momento socio-histórico de creciente ultraconservadorismo y afirmación de odio.Cet article analyse, à l’aide du cadre théorique-métodologique de l’analyse du discours de Pêcheux, la façon dont la place discursive du sujet-enseignant est (re)placée selon les récits de haine produits sur l’espace virtuel. Les analyses mettent en évidence la production d’effets d’animalisation et de diabolisation de la place ci-nommée enseignant-éducateur qui finissent par travailler le/sur le discours afin de justifier aussi bien la violence contre cette place que son anéantissement, car elle est envisagée comme figure abjecte, indigne et nuisible. L’exercice analytique que l’on entreprend ici équivaut à une problematisation de la conjoncture actuelle, et cherche à (d)énoncer les pratiques grâce auxquelles tout le corps enseignant est aujourd’hui stigmatisé et discrédité, dans un cadre socio-historique d’ultraconservantisme croissant et de recrudescence de la haine.O artigo propõe analisar, à luz do arcabouço teórico-metodológico da análise do discurso pecheutiana, o modo como o lugar discursivo do sujeito-professor tem sido (re)posicionado a partir de narrativas de ódio produzidas no espaço virtual. As análises evidenciam a produção de efeitos de animalização e de demonização da posição que aqui designamos de professor-educador, que opera o/no discurso a fim de justificar tanto a violência contra essa posição quanto seu extermínio, dado que ela é projetada como figura abjeta, indigna e nociva.
