This article aims to do a social and political analysis of the more numerous groups in Bolivian society, populated by those of native lineage (called campesinos or, in a derogatory way, índios), in the creation of multiculturalism and recognition policies, to avoid prejudice and discrimination. To reach that goal, the starting point will be a bibliographic research, taking in consideration the political, social and judiciary angles in Bolivian history, from the Colony period to the present, including the birth of social movements in both rural and urban settings, and their role in the defeat of the government composed by white (pure or mixed) people. It’s important to call attention to the National Revolution of 1952 and its achievements, like nationalization of the mines, land reform and universal suffrage rights, as well as native representation in the political decisions, along with their reintegration as full citizens. We conclude with a critique on the creation of a Plurinational State, the process of presidential reelection, as well as on the indifference and lack of organization of the opposed political parties.
