Precarização do trabalho e o papel da organização coletiva do precariado: um olhar sobre a profissão de bibliotecário e o caso do sindicato dos bibliotecários de Minas Gerais

This work aims to identify and analyze the possibilities of collective organization of librarians and the role of unions in a context of increasing job insecurity. To this end, we analyzed the literature in the areas of Law, Sociology and Library Science, focusing on Collective Labor Law, unions, job insecurity and the emergence of precariat, the profession of librarian and the current requirements for training and skills, the threat of precariousness and the collective organization of professionals, highlighting their relationship with class councils and trade unions in the profession, in order to try to understand the role and importance of collective action in times of flexibility and precariousness. We use the dialectical method, paying attention to the historical development and the context, temporal and spatial, of the librarian profession. Brazilian unionism underwent changes: from the confrontations in the great strike cycles of the late 1970s, through the prevalence of negotiation in the neoliberal decade, through the seat in the state bureaucratic machine, in the Workers Party governments, and the attempt to total neutralization with the resumption of the liberalizing measures of the last governments. The globalization of the economy has completely changed the world of work. The precariat grows with the flexibilization of work and the loss of labor rights by the worker. The precariousness results mainly from automation, pejotization, outsourcing and informalization of labor relations. The librarian profession suffers a great impact due to precarious work. Technologies change work processes and impact on the production of knowledge, demanding from the professional continuous qualification and constant adaptation to the context that changes continuously. The collective organization of librarians is fragile and dispersed, especially with regard to unions. The union is essential to bring together professionals and allow the defense of labor and social rights, in addition to exercising the assistance role, especially in the qualification of the worker, and politician, as a catalyst for the demands of the class
