The spectacularization of the criminal process is a social construction that has as its plot the criminal trials, which are based on freedom and truth. The fascination with crime is a preponderant factor in the creation of the spectacle, especially when the subject is the punishment applied to those who are judged for the practice of some crime. Based on the inductive method, the present study will use bibliographic research to critically analyze the power of influence of the media in relation to criminal trials, in the light of the criminal and constitutional procedural principles. The proposed debate finds justification in the fact that the media, as the holder of the power to inform, has constantly exercised its actions in a sensationalist manner, promoting (un) information to the public. Thus, it will be analyzed the important role of the mass media and their performance as a tool for forming public opinion, as well as the absence of express regulation for the work of the press. In addition, the ability of the media to intervene in judicial decisions and the promotion of early or undue convictions will be analyzed, as well as the impartiality of the judge and the consideration of fundamental principles in the face of conflicts in the criminal sphere
