The emergence of social movements occurred with the indignation and consequently the manifestation of oppressed classes in the past, through a gathering of exploited individuals and their rights suppressed by elites, whose only alternative was to unite and fight for improvements. Since always there is an interest in to harass these collective manifestations, and the media has great participation in the criminalization of social movements. In addition, the stigmatization of the black and poor population, also occurs through these communication tools, when it summarizes crime and violence to faces of the same skin and / or social class. We can say that they are instruments of social manipulation. An example of this is the case of Rafael Braga Vieira, who became a symbol of the fight for a just and equal penal system. His case gained notoriety through militants, initially of black movement, and later attracted the attention of others struggling for similar causes, until forming the Freedom Movement of Rafael Braga. Young man, black and poor, in a street situation, the only one condemned by the demonstrations of June 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, whose circumstances of his blatant were forged by the police on that occasion, and when his second conviction based only on the testimony of the police officers who detained him , as well as other vices, nullities, and clear violations of Brazilian law. This proves that what matters is not defending the right, it will depend on who is having your right violated.
