Mapping of research groups that work with knowledge management in Brazil

The Scientific Community has a peculiar way of organizing. Observed by the various scientific databases available to allocate the knowledge produced over time in addition to specific platforms for access to the curricula of researchers or groups composed by them. Thus, this article describes an overview of the Knowledge Management Research Groups that are present in the Directory of Research Groups of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development. The area of knowledge that includes Knowledge Management studies involves the creation, registration, sharing and dissemination of organizational knowledge, several authors, including, efforts to better understand their concepts and practices. In its scope, the article brings a brief discussion about Research Groups, the summary description of the Research Groups Directory, fundamental concepts of Knowledge Management, methodological aspects involved in data collection, where the search expression "Management of Knowledge ", and 350 groups were retrieved in the directory and then analyzes and comparisons were performed. The South and Southeast regions concentrate the largest number of Research Groups, respectively in the States of Santa Catarina and São Paulo. Among the major areas of knowledge, the Research Groups are in the area of Applied Social Sciences and basic knowledge areas such as Information Science, Direct and Administration. Thus, this research allowed to know some aspects of the research groups in Knowledge Management in Brazil.
