Resumo: | The article examines the historiography of conquest and colonization in Spanish America, pointing to a change of perspective: history is not being written any more from the point of view of the conqueror - and the class who inherited its privileged position - but from the point of view of those who have been conquered and afterwards dominated. Though this change seems to be the recent result of epistemological and ethical requirements of multiculturalist approaches, we can see that it has long been prepared, mainly by the incorporation of social history perspectives and concepts. |
