Resumo: The article talks about the Catholic Church’s strategy and doctrine to build Christ’s Social Kingdom during the pontificates of Leon XIII and Pius XI. The aim is to offer a political context for Alceu Amoroso Lima’s arguments in favour of a Nation’s Organic Constitution, the project that guided Brazilian Catholic demands in the 1933-4 Constituent Assembly. The research used bibliographical and documental sources, in addition to a contextual and conceptual analysis of the material researched

El objetivo es mostrar el contexto institucional y las condiciones políticas de los argumentos de Alceu Amoroso Lima a favor de una Constitución Orgánica de la Nación, proyecto que orientó las demandas de los católicos brasileros en la Asamblea Constituyente de 1933-4. En la investigación se utilizaron fuentes bibliográficas y documentales, y fue realizado un análisis contextual y conceptual de los materiales trabajados.O artigo apresenta a estratégia e a doutrina da Igreja Católica para a construção do reino social do Cristo no pontificado de Leão XIII e no de Pio XI. O objetivo é oferecer o contexto institucional e as condições políticas dos argumentos de Alceu Amoroso Lima em prol de uma Constituição Orgânica da Nação, projeto que orientou as demandas dos católicos brasileiros na Assembleia Constituinte de 1933-4.
